yab_review_rating: A comment based (star) rating system for articles.

This is (star) rating plugin for Textpattern. It’s a useful partner for yab_shop or similar plugins.
It extends the comment system with a rating scala, so it can be used as reviews for products as you see on Amazon or other shops.
Can be used standalone (without yab_shop).

I updated the plugin to v0.3: Now the <txp:yab_review_rating /> can be used in a recent_comment form too. And I’ve added the id attribute to that tag, so you can display the rating of any comment/review everywhere and you’re not bound to a comment context (comments form).

Hi Trenc

The plugin is not working on txp 4.4.1, i have upgradded my website to 4.5.5 to make it work.

On plugin help in requirement it said: txp 4.x!

Thanks for the plugin, i must change it a little because i want to use a jquery star rating plugin and i should get rid of labels on radio display.

I have a problem since my update to 4.6. Not 100% sure but I think it is due to the update.
Whenever I change a comment to visible it resets the rating to 0 on the database.
Also I do have in mind, that the rating was shown in the backend before. So when I am reviewing comments I could also see their rating. Now it is not shown. Any ideas?

Achtung!
The site’s database is not available. What happened to yablo.de? I was so happy to find the right plugin! But I have got the surprise. I hope the time will come when all plugins can be downloaded from textpattern.org directly.

zenman: try this and the cached version of trenc’s blog article about it. The site still appears to be there, so maybe trenc will see that the db is missing.

Danke! I still dont understand how to get “stars”. Do I have to create a style or it is already created in the plugin? On you site stars are images, are they not?

The plugin does not directly create it. With the output of the plugin you can generate class names for an element (yab-rating-3 or yab-rating-5 etc). You can now bind different images or an image with different positions on this class names in the style sheet. So it’s done on my demo site. Feel free poke around with the dome inspector.
