G1.16 Released
Available as ever in deanload.
A reminder that if you are upgrading from previous Gamma versions, you need only replace the files in your /textpattern/
directory, EXCEPT config.php.
Those using version g1.15 and older. Version g1.16 requires slight alterations to your database. To make these changes, load http://yoursite/textpattern/_g116update.php in a browser. You can then delete that file.
Other changes:
- Add article_custom tag, which allows tailoring article output by article, section, author etc
- Added ‘include in site search’ option for individual sections
- Added name and email validation for comments
- Added navigation to banned commenter list from main comments tag
- Added option to change the number of days after which logs will be expired
- Added option to create Excerpts for articles (defined in admin_config.php)
- Added option to override forms on an article-by-article basis
- Fix several problems caused by apostrophes in category names
- Fixed a confusing interface failure when trying to create a section that already exists
- Fixed a problem where article title text in “quotes” was disapearing
- Fixed an installer problem where the first publisher’s email address wasn’t being inserted into the database
- Fixed erroneous ‘article categories’ header in link list
- Fixed incorrect display of links that have blank categories in link tab
- Fixed incorrect handling of ampersands in category_list
- Fixed incorrect site and article links in Atom feeds for sites in subdirectories
- Fixed problem in password_protect that was throwing errors
- Fixed some naming confusion that prevented changing link and image category names
- Got rid of automatic
<span>
-ing of strings of caps in Textile - Link titles and descriptions are now run through Textile to encode any high-ascii characters
- Rewrote the mechanism for paging through content – you can now accurately page through articles, comments, logs, links and images
- Titles appending to permalink urls in /clean/ mode are now correctly stripped of html tags and entities
The plugin installer is working, watch this space for news on the first plugin.

Re: G1.16 Released
Gah, I knew there’d be something. Hang on two minutes.
Update: a single missing dollar sign. Redownload and replace /include/txp_log.php
if you installed the upgrade in the last 20 minutes.

Re: G1.16 Released
I have an interesting error when I un-tar the archive:
tar: textpattern_g116/textpattern/txpsql.php: time stamp 2004-03-11 10:59:16 is 1281 s in the future tar: textpattern_g116/textpattern: time stamp 2004-03-11 11:24:05 is 2770 s in the future tar: textpattern_g116: time stamp 2004-03-11 11:24:05 is 2770 s in the future
If I extract with the -m flag, all seems to go well. I assume that in 2770 seconds from now, this message won’t matter at all, at least in my time zone.

Re: G1.16 Released
Excerpts, which I previously had working, are at the moment not displaying for me.
Did the tag change?
EDIT: why yes, yes it did:
<code><txp:body_excerpt /></code> didn’t work, but <code><txp:excerpt /></code> did.
