for European (and UK) residents
As our physical and political landscapes are going through dramatic changes, they, once again want to make similar changes to the net. This time by imposing a copyright law which which will be taxing links. Take action to save the link.

Thanks for the heads-up, Yiannis. How did they sneak this under my radar?!
Although the link you provided says the campaign has ended, people can still take action. I’ve read around the subject and altered the boilerplate text (slightly) before e-mailing my MEP. Here’s some more info to help grasp this crazy proposal, including why it’s already pretty much failed in Germany and Spain:
- Find out more about what this law is and its potency: openmedia.org/en/what-heck-ancillary-copyright-and-why-do-we-call-it-link-tax
- E-mail your MEP here: act1.openmedia.org/savethelink
- Guide for MEPs, which outlines the impact in easy to understand terms: openmedia.org/sites/default/files/documents/mepbriefing-singlepgsinteractive_0.pdf

I actually saw a link earlier today on twitter (via the creative commons feed). I wish I knew about it earlier too. I’m trying to mobilise the local scene but I also thought that it is relevant to this community too.
