Re: Feedback to: Textpattern CMS 4.6.0 beta 3 released

Just ran an upgrade from a stock 4.5.7. All went swimmingly (yay!) and these files were deleted. Wonder why yours were left behind?

I checked on a couple of sites that I upgrade to 4.6b (mostly beta 1), and in each case the /textpattern/include/import/ and /textpattern/include/txp_import.php are gone.

As for the license files, what Phil said is correct, from my understanding.

As far as I know the 3 licences in root are required.

Yep, they’re not in dispute. It’s the textpattern/license.txt (which isn’t in the 4.6 repo and appears to be a duplicate of the root’s LICENSE.txt) and the /textpattern/lgpl-2.1.txt (which is a also omitted from 4.6 and appears to be a clone of LICENSE-LESSER.txt). Both the license files in the textpattern folder seem to be left behind from 4.5.7, having been moved and renamed into the site root in 4.6.0.

Oh, yes those ones should be removed.

My bad, the upgrade script removes import. First time I’ve seen an upgrade script clean up files.

(or perhaps move the bsd and lesser licences into the directories where the code they reference is contained).

This would be a better option, cleans up the root.

We’re full of surprises :-)

[moving licenses] would be a better option, cleans up the root.

Noted.
