The English version states re Time Zone:

In order to display dates in your local time zone, please indicate where you are in relation to Greenwich Mean Time/Universal Coordinated Time (by ‘Standard’ not ‘Daylight Saving’ time – another preference enables/disables Daylight Saving Time).

~~What does the annotation in brackets mean, please, especially the “by ‘Standard’ not ‘Daylight Saving’ time” part?~~ Penny’s dropped.

Edit: In actual fact, looking at the menu displayed there, it’s not about setting a time difference (might have been like that in the past, like it’s still in this forum’s software). It’s rather about choosing the correct time zone. Hence, it’s probably not a iota less understandable simply saying:

In order to display dates in your local time zone, please indicate where on this globe you are.

And removing that confusing GMT/UTC/ Standard/DST/another preference stuff.

I’ve tweaked prefs/gmtoffset.textile here – how does that read to you, uli?

Small amendments for the English file prefs/use_textile.textile:

After The setting you choose here becomes the default for excerpt and body markup on the 'Write' administration panel. it might also be mentioned that Existing articles aren't changed by this setting. Or something like that, as always.

After the last sentence or not convert any text at all it could be said that this last setting is useful for e.g. working with WYSIWYG editor plugins or pasting chunks of raw HTML.
(or something like that)

Similar wording for the English file section/section_default.textile To the following line …

This option governs which section will be pre-selected in the Section menu when creating a new article on the ‘Write’ administration panel.

… could also be added something like “This setting does not affect existing articles”.

There are four new pophelp links for the new desription fields for articles, sections, categories and links¹ and neither of these mention how to bring the texts entered there into the page source. I couldn’t tell either.

Can somebody shed a little light on this, please?
Edit #2: OK, I found tags for links and files (never used/forgotten).
Remains tags for articles, sections, categories.
Edit #3: Found a meta_description tag at textpattern.io. I’ll yet have to understand how that one will work in order to write about it, but … yeah.

Edit: Somebody might want to write additional info into the pophelp files. It’s needed in

article/description.textile
link/link_description.textile
category/category_description.textile
section/section_description.textile

¹ There’s no pophelp link available for description on Files, BTW, and no pophelp file exists, either.

The sub list of the ordered list’s HTML example textfilter/textile/list-numerical.textile must be wrapped in ol tags.

I’ve translated/overhauled/aligned around 100 of the ~ 120 German help files. What’s left is mostly Textile help. During the next 8 weeks I’ll have very little time to spend for the project, though. And IIRC you wanted to publish overhauled help files for the 4.6 final release. I’ll see what I can do but we’ll probably have to start with still some English texts for Textile, at least where help items were added in 4.6.

Give me a shout when you need the file pile.
