phpSitemapNG

There is an excellent 3rd party tool, free and open source of course. It’s called phpSitemapNG, it spiders your site and generates /sitemap.txt, /sitemap.xmp, /sitemap.7z, and then it pings search engines. For SEO this is the thing to have installed. It would be excellent to have all of it’s features incorporated into textpattern, or into a plugin for textpattern, plus one feature, when activated and site is live, it should create sitemaps and ping search engines A) when site is modified, and B) on customizable time schedule.
