We had this question recently. But, I can’t find it and don’t remember the answer. The search returns no useful result. Strange.

Unless one of the other forum members has a copy of it, I’m afraid you won’t be able to get it in the foreseeable future.

I would imagine any PDF version floating around at this point would be ~~horribly~~ outdated since that extension hasn’t worked in a long time (and isn’t going to again).

Cuong, my advice would be to use the new Tag Reference docs at least, it’s the docs that are maintained at this point. ~~Forget about getting a PDF book of the entire thing, unless you build it yourself.~~ Keep reading. ;)

Here’s a pdf document of the tag reference but as noted above, it may not be right up to date. Having said that the majority of the tags have the same basic structure, so it is of some help.

An intermediary solution:

This Textpattern Tag Reference is a PDF converted from the current state (as of 1 Dec 2015) of the tag docs here made using this batch textile to pdf converter and Acrobat.

It’s only standard styling and lacks a table of contents but the tags are bookmarked in the PDF bookmark pane. The batch converter can do a TOC but it’s so verbose (it does every single h-tag) that it’s unusable, and I couldn’t get it to do just the h1s. Maybe someone can improve on that.

Guys form rich countries with their permanent and fast web connection forgot those who don’t have their comfort.
During my 8 years in Africa, I was very happy to have references tags in .pdf.

I think it is important to provide one of these solutions :

Tags docs available in a big one html page, with CSS print, that is easy to save or export to pdf.
Txp docs available for a offline documentation tools like Dash, Zeal or DevDocs

Even with a reliable network collection, I find it useful to have an offline version of the docs. The searchability using devdocs.io is very useful but a dash (for mac) or zeal / velocity (for windows) variant would be great too (I think they all use the dash format). Conceivably that could be built from the current docs on github as my second PDF linked above was.

That said, aren’t the upcoming new docs built with jekyll from the .textile flat files on the github repo?

I haven’t tried it, but theoretically you could download the docs and run them with jekyll on your local webserver, which you’re likely to have running if you’re doing local web development. I don’t know if all the necessary files (excepting jekyll) are in the repo, but it looks like layout templates are in there… so you could be in luck.

Yes in theory could run a local copy of the site using Jekyll, although this might make it difficult. I may be able to work around that though with a variable. Maybe, not sure.

Please feel free to provide Dash, Zeal or DevDocs integration patches via a pull request, if you want it. All help welcome.

This might be a good starting point.

I’ve created an issue in the repo for it, as a placeholder for potential future feature.
