Calling translators: new strings added to Textpacks language files

Here is the grid of Textpacks and their translation status: Google Sheets

The Textpattern translated language strings — also known as Textpacks — have been updated with some new strings for Textpattern 4.6 and beyond.

There are 14 new strings:

add_new_article =>
tab_skins =>
default_publish_status =>
permlink_format =>
permlink_hyphenated =>
permlink_intercapped =>
skin_base_path =>
create_skin =>
edit_skin =>
skin_name =>
skin_title =>
skin_version =>
skin_author =>
skin_website =>

These strings are connected to new and improved features in Textpattern.

For the best user experience with Textpattern 4.6, these strings should be translated into localised languages. Textpattern needs your help.

Right now, there are 12 language packs with only these 14 strings untranslated: Български, Čeština, Deutsch, Español, Suomi, Galego, Italiano, Nederlands, Português (Brasil), Português (Portugal), Русский and Tiếng Việt (Việt Nam). Adding the 14 translated strings will bring each of the language packs to 100% translation and a great user experience.

Translators for these languages: at a convenient time, please provide the translations for your Textpack and regain your 100% badge of honour. Thank you in advance.

Translators for other languages: at a convenient time, please examine your Textpack for untranslated strings and provide translations. Thank you in advance.

Re: Calling translators: new strings added to Textpacks language files

Hi Pete,

the English file has none of these translations yet beginning from permlink_format downward (Edit: Or did I get lost in the Github thicket?). To see these would help enormously. As well as any hints re context, where these strings will appear. Do you know more about that?

Well, that’s embarrassing – I’ll be back home around 2100UTC tonight, I will take a look and fill in some blanks.

Edit: uli — can you reload that URL you posted? It’s coming through fine here:

permlink_format => Permlink title URL pattern
permlink_hyphenated => Hyphenated (title-like-this)
permlink_intercapped => Intercapped (TitleLikeThis)

Your view might be cached, perhaps?

You have a pull request for ES-ES from superjorge.

Not sure if I did it right, take it a look before accept it.

Thanks, milosevic – I have processed your pull request from Wednesday. The pull request from today (Thursday) will need more examination today, and I will either merge manually or automatically. I will contact you soon.

Re: Calling translators: new strings added to Textpacks language files

Sorry, I’ve read this late.
In GitHub it seems all is translated in Italian, isn’t it?
Let me know if there are some missing strings.

Italian is almost all translated. There are a small number of translations remaining, but they are from another different batch of strings:

search_users =>
search_articles =>
expire_date =>
expire_time =>
publish_date =>
publish_time =>
search_comments =>
search_files =>
search_images =>
search_links =>
search_logs =>
search_sections =>

All these strings are translated in en-gb.textpack and should be easy to translate.

Re: Calling translators: new strings added to Textpacks language files

Some posts down in RFC: roadmap detour — Textpack translations, Pete introduces another set of language strings for translation:

password_change_confirmation => Your password has been changed. If you did not request a change to your password, contact your site administrator.
password_confirm_button => Set password
password_strength_0 => Poor
password_strength_1 => Weak
password_strength_2 => Fair
password_strength_3 => Good
password_strength_4 => Strong
show_password => Show password
salutation => Dear {name},
image_details => Image details
all_preferences => All preferences
setup_password_strength_0 => Poor
setup_password_strength_1 => Weak
setup_password_strength_2 => Fair
setup_password_strength_3 => Good
setup_password_strength_4 => Strong
setup_show_password => Show password

Pete, I’ve seeked out and added the English translation here above as it’s often absolutely necessary for translators to know from what to proceed, see password_change_confirmation without the English string.

Here’s the de-de set of strings:

password_change_confirmation => Ihr Passwort wurde geändert. Falls Sie keine Passwortänderung veranlasst haben, wenden Sie sich an den Administrator der Website.
password_confirm_button => Passwort festlegen
password_strength_0 => Sehr unsicher
password_strength_1 => Unsicher
password_strength_2 => Durchschnittlich
password_strength_3 => Sicher
password_strength_4 => Sehr sicher
show_password => Passwort zeigen
salutation => Hallo {name},
image_details => Bildinformationen
all_preferences => Alle Einstellungen
setup_password_strength_0 => Sehr unsicher
setup_password_strength_1 => Unsicher
setup_password_strength_2 => Durchschnittlich
setup_password_strength_3 => Sicher
setup_password_strength_4 => Sehr sicher
setup_show_password => Passwort zeigen

REPLACEMENT for the old existing greeting => Liebe(r): replace by greeting => Hallo
