Jukka's site down

Extracting this out of a “How?” thread from four days ago…

Jukka’s main site is throwing an error at the moment :-(

Jukka’s site is still down. I hope he’s alright, because that seems very uncharacteristic for somebody like Jukka.

It looks like his plugins are all on GitHub, so that’s good, I guess. Maybe he’s just keeping shop from there from now on.

He was the last one at the helm of php-Textile, too, if I’m not mistaken, and supposedly working on a PHP Textile website. There are various interesting comments from people about Textile happenings here from over a year ago, which gives the general impression there’s no pilot in the ship’s wheelhouse. Or is that just my gloom filter clouding my understanding?

Re: Jukka's site down

I tweeted him a few days ago, but he’s not been on twitter much nor on github, nor much elsewhere as far as I can tell. I thought I didn’t have a mail address from him, but I just found it, so I’ll mail him too :-)

Re: Jukka's site down

His last action on github trace back to May 17, 2015.
Haven’t seen any sign of him since.
Sometimes internet fills a little scary, loosing trace of someone and not being able to know if all is all right.

It looks like that, but it’s a pull request from Nicolas, not a sign of Jukka unfortunately.

Re: Jukka's site down

He last tweeted in September, to lament the demise of his beloved cans, a little bit more recent at least.

So the other devs haven’t heard from him either since then?

Re: Jukka's site down

testdeputy,

Being concerned about somebody isn’t being creepy, it’s being concerned. And if you we’re familiar enough with the history of this community, you’d know being concerned about people here is justified.

But the point is, whether or not there’s anything wrong — hopefully Jukka’s enjoying The Maldives before it submerges — he was supposedly going to contribute to this project in various ways as a core dev, but instead has made a rather discourteous exit from doing so (the ol’ disappering trick). So it’s perfectly fine for seven moderators, one core dev, and one core dev emeritus to take interest in a convenient public manner.

Don’t worry, you’ll be a testsherrif some day.
