It must use Bootstrap : see the includes libraries, in the getting started docs :
Summernote uses open source libraries(jQuery, Bootstrap, font-awesome).
Very bad …
I use Bootstrap, not a bad framework, so Summernote works fine for me.
I wasn’t suggesting the Textpattern Team use it, just making the statement that I’ve been using it.

What does it do that rah_textile_bar don’t do?
Looks pretty similar if you ask me and rah_textile is neater and leaner. But you can test mark-it-up with textile on the demo site.
I favour the kind of approach of SimpleMDE (although that is obviously Markdown only).
That has syntax highlighting too. If that was available with textile and the buttons made a little smaller, it would be brilliant.

I tested but you confirm what I was thinking.

I agree so I made a new topic: Improved Text Editor Capability
Let’s try to keep this one on topic… if we can. :)

Here is another idea we could spend a bit of money on – getting the stale language translations more complete.

OK, I’ve opened a trial account and sent them a open source project request – we’ll see what they respond with.
EDIT: OK, Crowdin have responded and approved us for a free account – which is very generous of them :) I just need to work out how to actually use the system now.

F! No we don’t. The price was around US$700+ recently. They must have raised the cost.
Do you know the Redactor OEM licence is actually $ 599 ?
I now need a good WYSIWIG editor for a major project on 3 domains. The Redactor developer license costs $ 299. I am ready to give this money to the Textpattern community if it buys and integrates very quickly the OEM license. What do you think about this ?

The Redactor licence seems to have been updated now and reworded – how does that fit with our OSS project?

The issues that Robert raised with it still exist, sadly.
