Textpattern.org plugin directory inventory
Destry wrote #295751:
Regardless of where a plugin repo ends up (.org, GitHub, wherever), the matter of plugin ROT is an important thing to address early, and can be done independent of any platform. Plugins are essentially content in this context so a spreadsheet inventory having at least name, link, and, if not too hard, purpose would be a good bases for first-pass filtering. A Google Sheet would probably be ideal, to make it accessible to the community
Let me know if you want write access.

Nicolas – there is a typo in the plugin name on the resources site: oui_diclaimer

Thanks, Robert. If you don’t mind, I’m transcribing the data to the associated sheet in the Global content inventory book. It has a few filtering tools already set up. You have write access there too already.

Re: Textpattern.org plugin directory inventory
Robert, the list you provided has 648 plugins, while the Resources site says there are 770.
Edit: Nevermind, looks like some of the Export options don’t include every record.

Re: Textpattern.org plugin directory inventory
I’ve ported over to here the columns I think are useful to tag and sort these a bit. I left out the time stamps and the “info” URL. That can stay in Robert’s copy for now.
The main thing for people to do is give a “Status” value (Usable, Orphaned, Trash), which then makes it easy to sort the table by that data.
Next, to make this usable as a find plugin by type, indicate type, and sort that way too.
Same idea for Cat1 and Cat2, which are more to capture the nature of what the plugin is for — broad and specific. Again, useful for sorting the grid.
The descriptions were truncated, apparently, so maybe useful to help provide “category” values, but once that’s done, that column can be dropped.
Phil (doc owner), Robert, Steph, Els, and myself all have write access. We could use a couple or throuple more, probably. Then everyone else just start shouting here about what the values should be.
I fear if we make the sheet public-edit it will be vandalized, but that’s not my call, really.
Any Google sheet wizards out there that knows how to automagically add link on URLs? And at the same time (or in a second action), remove the “http:///textpattern.org/” part on the link labels? It can be done, I’m pretty sure, I just don’t know how to do it.

Wouldn’t it be nice to start with the existing categories? I’ve regenerated the sheet w/ those.
