Who's that lurking?
Is that you Ruud?
This forum has a built-in feature, used by those in the know, who want to check on what’s happening.
The feature is called extern.php, you can see it in action in the txp:tag sidebar.
Here’s the source code to extern.php, it has all the url variables you can use.
I put up the sidebar to keep track of activity, but most importantly, to see who’s online.
I’ve been keeping an eye on who signs on and when, very interesting indeed.
So Ruud, are you part of the Textpattern team or you just like lurking?

Creepy. Are those the only options I get to choose from?

I would love to see you as part of the team, you have valuable insight to the core code, but you’re just as valuable in a support capacity right here on this forum.
It’s all in jest, nothing against you.

Re: Who's that lurking?
I suspect a notable proportion of those anonymous users are spammers circling.
Which reminds me: perhaps this forum is so popular with weight loss and muscle-building spammers because of Core Development and the terminology similarity with fitness, etc.

Yes they are, just do this experiment, put up a FluxBB forum, or any other forum for that matter, and watch your logs, count the hits, it’s an incredible site to behold.

Re: Who's that lurking?
I’m here everyday, as I have been since 2004. I’m in the mostly silent camp, but very much a Textpattern user and supporter. And I’m oh-so-close to relaunching my blog, so I’ll have news to share soon. Thanks to all the developers and users of Textpattern for keeping this wonderful CMS alive and well. I’m happy to see so much activity of late.

Hey a fellow North Carolinian :)
I’m in the same boat, our house is up for sale also, though we’re moving out of state, to sunny Florida, where all the retirees go, can’t wait to sweat on queue, no need for exercise, just walk out to your mailbox and return all drenched because of the 98% humdity – oh sorry, you can see my excitement.

Anton & Bert – sounds like the beginning of the first Txp Users meetup this side of the Atlantic :)

I’ve got my txp:love t-shirt all pressed for the occasion.
I actually wear it quite often, the employees at Best Buy always ask me about the shirt.
I’m open to a meeting of txp:users, would be cool to get together.

Re: Who's that lurking?
I’ve been noting that Textpattern seems to have numerous users in North Carolina. We could almost catch up with the Brits.
Crazy concept: What if NC users got together on the same day this fall (I think it’s in October) that Textpattern users and devs are meeting in the UK? I’m on the coast, Bert’s in Charlotte. Perhaps somewhere in between… Greensboro… Raleigh…

I can bring my laptop, fire up Skype, and we can conversate with the Brits ;)
We need to coordinate this, when is the October get together?

Too funny. In my previous post, I had actually typed a second paragraph suggesting a NC meetup (but I deleted it because I promised my family I would stop organizing conferences and meetups and such). So I’m in. And Oct 10 would work just fine, unless we need something earlier before you head for Florida.

Added the date to my calendar – as the date approaches, let’s see who wants to meetup.

Is the Textpattern meeting in the UK still set for Oct 10?
If we had a North Carolina meeting on the same day (Raleigh?) – who would show? Meet ups are part of the energy of other open source projects – I hope we can make a Textpattern meeting happen.
