textgarden.org domain expired

FYI, textgarden.org expired 6/24/15.

I don’t know what the future plans were for this site (it had become dated) – or if themes are slated to appear elsewhere.

textgarden.org

Sad history there, if you’ve been around long enough, but I’d say let it go. It’s a hope relic from a time and spirit that no longer exists. Let it go. Textpattern already has more important things to worry about. Gigging this old frog along does’t make sense. And as I understand it, it’s not even a Txp property. Give it to Davie Jones. Let the locker take it.

Re: textgarden.org domain expired

One day we might actually own the domain names and branding of our own project. I can dream.

Do we actually have DNS control of textpattern.com to add new subdomains? If so, then whoever has it can they please add static1, static2 and themes please? Even better would be to repoint to nameservers at Cloudflare and have done with it.

I don’t think this project will ever own the Textpattern.com domain name, because it would of been transferred to a “Textpattern Dev Group” many moons ago.

Which is one of my main concerns, and has been for quite some time. Whatever efforts you would put in to making Textpattern CMS rise in recognition, could all go ‘poof” in an instance. The code, well that transitions, but to raise awareness all over again for a new name, that would really suck.

As it stands now, Textpattern is so off the grid, only known by a handful of gnomes, that a re-branding now is not such a big issue.
