Replace files best practice ?

Hi folks ;)

From the “files” tab, I need to replace all my epub files to PDF format.
I tried to re-upload but unfortunatly, changes did’nt occur.

Because I want to keep all download counters for all different files, what’s your best advice?
Do it manually from PhpMyAdmin? Better solution?

Thanks lot by advance.

We had this problem for years. A quick suggestion is to re-upload them and fiddle just with the download counts in PhpMyAdmin

Edit: Adi has the answer:)

Hi Patrick,

I’ve been working on a plugin which modifies the behaviour of the Files Tab. I think it’ll probably do what you’re after.

Give me a shout on email.

Adi

Ooooh, oooh, pick me, pick me! Would love to see what it does, if you can spare a copy please.

File handling is another one of those things I’d like to improve and have never found the time to do it justice. Manfre’s original works, but has really begun showing its age so if there is some cool Adi-age going on in your plugin, mind if I snaffle it for the core? Full credit to you of course.
