plh_front_edit
plh_frontEdit
Create and edit your content from front end on the fly.
Built upon the previous plh_edit_in_place but with support of custom_fields and other and of course txp4.5.4 compliant.
Download and help with template examples on Bitbucket.
You can view a screencast of the plugin on Vimeo.
This is much heavier and less simple than plh_edit_in_place. At the moment i don’t know if the 2 are needed. We’ll see in this thread if there is a need.
Edit, 2015-01-22 : Please, also note that this plugin is not tested for version higher than 4.5.4.
front_edit will need to be completely rewritten for newer version of tetxtpattern.

Re: plh_front_edit
Awesome, I need to test this. By the way, does it require jQuery 1.7.1 or at least 1.7.1 (and also works with 1.9 for example)?

Note: I am currently not actively using Textpattern, so I am not in the forums very often

Re: plh_front_edit
Looks like a great plugin. Can’t get it to work.
Textpattern 4.5.4
jQuery 1.7.2
I’m logged in.
I get the following error in my console: Uncaught ReferenceError: textpattern is not defined
Can you give an example on how to use the tags?

Re: plh_front_edit
<txp:cbe_frontauth_protect>
<txp:plh_new_article section=“your-section”>
<txp:plh_front_input id=“Title”><txp:title /></txp:plh_front_input>
<txp:plh_front_textarea id=“Body”><txp:body /></txp:plh_front_textarea>
</txp:plh_new_article>
</txp:cbe_frontauth_protect>
Would be something like that
And you need to visit your page with ?plh_create_article=1 appended to the url (see help)

Re: plh_front_edit
Markup is the default txp4.5.4 theme.
After login: I’m sorry. I’m afraid I can’t do that; article update is an unsafe operation.

Re: plh_front_edit
OK, its a problem of permission.
What’s your group permission ? You need write permission.
check the cookies values .
What is your admin path ?
I’ll be out for the whole day.

Re: plh_front_edit
I got full control, I’m the publisher of the textpattern install.
Admin path is correct.
Cookies txp_login and txp_public_login are there. What values do I need to check?

Re: plh_front_edit
Hello,
Here with some students we need to use this plugin or a similar plugin or a workaround.
We get this error again :
I’m sorry. I’m afraid I can’t do that; article update is an unsafe operation.
Could you give us some tips, some help ?
Thanks
(Last official TXP 4.5.7, examples from the help)

Re: plh_front_edit
Hello JP, nice to here there is still interest to this plugin.
Can you describe a bit more. When does this message happen ?
Usually, this means that your are not allowed to perform a write operation.
The connected user must have write permission, may be check with user as admin first.
Let me know the result

Re: plh_front_edit
Perhaps this topic can give you some idea’s on how to solve this, provided the plugin itself is updated to deal with the CSRF protections introduced in TXP 4.4.1

Hello, we are all admins ! The message occurs just after we click on the button “Add an article” on the example page on your site. If you want, I may give you full access to the site and textpattern, send me a mail. Where your plugin need to do a write operation ? In the database ? In a directory ?
