Btw, when I was talking about documenting the code, it wasn’t just about documenting what a function’s purpose is, but also document the inner workings of a function. Sometimes you’re wondering why parts of code are necessary or why they are coded in a specific way. That’s what I used the ‘svn blame’ function for, which only works if you still have the complete project history. Tracking down a line of code to a specific commit helps to understand why it was committed (especially if the commit message was clear enough, but sometime just seeing what other code was added in that commit will help to understand its purpose).

There’s even a Textpattern fork, http://xpattern.net/, that came about as a result of the initial leadership changes.
Not to be too picky, but xpattern was started in 2008 which was quite a while after Dean left so I wouldn’t characterize that as “initial.”

[Edit] Cynicism aside, she’s right: Wordpress is a better blogging platform for most people. That Wordpress-centric, Wordpress-powered, Bluehost-affiliated site is always going to come to that conclusion.
I am always amused when I see ‘Wordpress’ and ‘lightweight’ mentioned in the same sentence. Honestly, whenever I work with client Wordpress installs I feel like I’m going into battle with all the plugins I have to add.

That was absolutely the funniest part. Wordpress is lightweight if you compare it to TYPO3 but compared to Textpattern it isn’t even a consideration.
I have sites running both because they excel at different things. But that was a pretty lame comparison.

After all, WordPress has a larger user groups, countless themes & plugins, and ease of use, which Textpattern sucks.
In addition, with the lightweight framework, WordPress has better performance with faster speed and more reliable uptime than Textpattern
Fair and balanced reviews such as this one are so few and far between. ;P
I appreciated learning that WordPress has more reliable uptime than Textpattern CMS. Silly me. All this time I thought that was a function of servers and such :D
