Forum posting and reporting

Related to this post – it appears that there’s a 30 second delay between multiple posts being published to the forum by the same author. This makes sense. However, the delay for reporting posts appears to be 60 seconds, meaning a spammer could (and has) come in, post every 31 seconds and I have have to wait 61 seconds before I can file each report.

Proposal: unify the posting/reporting time delay to 30 or 60 seconds.

Rabah, your English is much better than my Arabic and French. Heck, some days my English is worse than yours and I’ve had 35+ years of trying.

Hey Pete,

remember! Before you delete any posts report the username or the profile url of the spammer using the “report” button

Pete, just a small reminder :) Can you please include the user name or the user’s profile url in your reports, so we can delete him? Thank you!

P.S. I assume you already found the Moderation forum?

Re: Forum posting and reporting

Hi Els. The penny just dropped. I misinterpreted Yiannis’ advice as to report the post and then delete it. I re-read and now I’ve figured it out. Many apologies. I can recall the user IDs of the spam posts if that’s any use now – shall I start a moderation thread?

Really?! Please don’t take your moderator duties that seriously ;) Don’t worry, Pete, if the spammers post again we will delete them then, and if they don’t there is no problem. Deleting (or banning) isn’t that effective against persistent spammers anyway.
