Re: [forum] subscription mail broken & change email address is confusing

Thanks Robert, emails are delivered, also the old ones.

Jan 21 13:53:52 WHOCAREZ-SERVER postfix/smtpd[20864]: 883633F6801E: client=textpattern.com[37.153.96.164]
Jan 21 13:53:52 WHOCAREZ-SERVER postfix/cleanup[20882]: 883633F6801E: message-id=<20140121124418.639115CD09@textpattern.com>
Jan 21 13:53:52 WHOCAREZ-SERVER postfix/qmgr[29898]: 883633F6801E: from=<forum@com.com>, size=1382, nrcpt=1 (queue active)

anyway the from field is still weird. Should be “forum@textpattern.com” instead of “forum@com.com”

Do you have any hint where Postfix might get that value from?

hm, $mydestination and $myorigin should also contain textpattern.com. Probably /etc/mailname contains com.

just take a look at the output of postconf as root

Added a few additional bits here and there now…

$ postconf  | grep mydomain
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost
mydomain = textpattern.com
myorigin = $mydomain

Looks reasonable.

Looks good: from=<forum@forum.textpattern.com>

Thanks!

I just request a email change and I get a mail from this adress : notify@forum.xpattern.net ??? xpattern ?

The same for me. And, quoting an older post: “I still have the problem of forum notifications not working for me (…).”

Re: [forum] subscription mail broken & change email address is confusing

Same problem here:
  • today I changed my email address to another
  • I received the email for activation and clicked on the link
  • new email address is ok
  • I unsubscribed then re-subscribed to two topics
  • -> I still don’t receive emails

Notifications are sent from notify@forum.xpattern.net.

There’s no entry in the mail servers error log pointing at any issues reaching your address, so if you happen to gather more information for possible reasons please do so (example).

Re: [forum] subscription mail broken & change email address is confusing

Perhaps mails aren’t simply not sent, are they ?

A workaround is to subscribe to the RSS topic feed (link at the bottom of the page).
