update manually language files

for some reason txp cannot connect to its RPC server,
the Languages tab simply times out with “server reset connection”.
this could be because of our server’s firewall, i dont know,
it is not under my control.

my question is, can i manually update the language files
because now i have placeholders in my articles and i need
a quick solution. thank you.

Re: update manually language files

You can download the files here and then manually import through Textpattern’s languages admin page.

Re: update manually language files

Is your DNS broken, maybe? The rpc.textpattern.com is working fine here, for what it’s worth.

Re: update manually language files

Also, there are textpacks but from a cursory check the version numbers don’t all tally up with those on rpc, so they may be lagging behind a little.

Re: update manually language files

so it seems that our server does not allow any outbound connections.
we have contacted the admin and hope to resolve it this way.

regardless, i think it would be nice to have the lang files
just come “automatically” with the releases. i dont use
the rpc stuff otherwise…
