No file was specified - image upload returns

Running Textpattern 4.5.5

No error messages on my temp files, file directories or image directories.

Was working a couple of weeks ago and then stopped working – and no system
updates or changes between then and now.

Anyone else having a problem with this issue.

When trying to upload a file I get the “directory permissions need to be checked” routine.

Again, have changed nothing – also talking to the ISP to see if they have changed anything.

It might be the server. Although it is not recommended did you try changing the permissions of the files folder to 777?

Oh yea – worked great a couple of weeks ago…

Will keep poking around -

Does anyone know of another image management plugin – though this is obviously
a server thing maybe…

Oh yea — 777 on the images and files DIR —

which is what it was weeks ago when it was working…

And now it is working today!

Might have made a minor tweak to OPEN BASE DIR in my PHP settings that fixed…

OK – there was an issue in the server with OPEN BASE DIR — effecting hundreds of CMS’s on the server -

Fixed today – but I also fixed it by tweaking my OPEN BASE DIR settings in my PHP settings setting
TMPS to a DIR in my WWW root.

Not surprised that Textpattern did not spit out an error -

Case closed.

I’m glad it is sorted. It’ll be wise to change those permissions back to 755.

777 is not very safe for the site. If it works, the recommended permissions are 755.

I have changed everything to rwxr—r— (0744)
Which is actually a bit tighter and it works fine.
