Updating language strings fails some of the time - or does it?
Hi, everyone.
I’m updating to v4.5.5 today and some of my sites, perhaps 20%, are not able to update to the latest en-gb language strings. I encountered a localhost problem along the same lines a while ago, but put it down to a wonky localhost setup. Now, I’m finding that it’s happening on an Internet-side server, too.
I’m attempting the language strings via RPC from the browser (Admin -> Preferences -> Language). I get a positive confirmation that the language file has been updated, but the expected behaviour of the orange Update hyperlink changing to Updated and no longer being linked isn’t happening. I did a one-take screencast (safe for work) to show you what’s happening here if it’s useful.
Now, this may just be a usability issue or I may have broken something somewhere. It’s not clear if the strings have been updated, or whether I need to update again.
As ever, any pointers are appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Edit: thanks to whoever moved this request, I wasn’t sure it was worthy of developer attention at this stage.
