[request] Admin UI for use with smd_calendar
Needed: an admin-side UI plugin companion for smd_calendar
This plugin will require smd_calendar and most likely glz_custom_fields. The plugin will transform the write tab for articles in sections that are specifically used for calendar/events (sections would be specified in the plugin’s options). Maybe include extra tabs / menu items under content in the admin area for designated calendar/event sections. When clicked, a full-size calendar will display instead of an article list for that section.
datefields that use a touch-friendly jquery date/time picker (maybe like this one)
Separate dialog that opens (or is revealed) when a user specifies a repeating event:
A stepfield that uses pulldowns and checkboxes so that users do not have to type in ?month or ?year (something similar to google calendar repeat event UI)
skipfield, omitfield, extrafield – utilize a jquery calendar that allows for multiple date selection (like this) Figure out a way for users to select a repeating interval that will automatically update the selected dates in the multi-date calendar. Then, allow for users to unclick certain dates and add others directly in the multi-date calendar for that article/event. Somehow make sense of the selections and put the dates in the appropriate (hidden) fields for smd_calendar.
Display a mini-smd_calendar of existing events on the Write page so that users can easily refer to it and navigate to other event articles without having to go back to the article list. All dates in the mini-calendar will be clickable. Dates without any existing events will be clickable to create a new event. Dates with one or more existing events will appear a different color. When a date with one or more already existing events is clicked, an article list of events on that date will display in a javascript window or below the calendar. Next to each event article title in the list, there should be a link to edit or delete. (If the user’s permissions allow, deletion of an event article/date should be possible, with a warning dialog, from this list without having to go to the Article List page.)
Cost? Ransom? Timeframe? Interest? Hoping this is possible and that other TXP users would like to see a plugin like this too.
If this isn’t possible, then a an upgrade to mka_ical to display v3 Google Calendars is my fall-back request.
