Proper form to insert tag into body when in "write article" page?

Hello. In Textpattern’s “write” section, in the body part, is it acceptable to insert tags like:

<txp:image id=“50” />
<txp:image_info type=“caption” id=“50” />

?

It does what I want when I do that, but I don’t know if it’s kosher or not.
