Which "Social Share plugin" do you use in TXP 4.5.4?
Hello there.
As a n00b in TXP, I’ve been searching for a kind of “Share this” (Google+, Facebook, twitter, linkedIn, Pinterest etc.) plugin for TXP 4.5.4, but, without luck yet.
The “outdated” Plugins at “Textpattern Resources” (cab_social, ako_social) doesn’t seems to be maintained (2007!) anymore and doesn’t work! …
Which “Social Share plugin” do you use in 2013 for TXP 4.5.4?
BTW: Where to find the most Up-To-Date plugins for TXP? – Textpattern Resources seem’s to be a bit out-dated, with a lot of “dead” plugins ;-(
Best regards,
madzzoni

These type of plugins go to the module like widget category, which aren’t necessarily the prime target for Textpattern. Textpattern sports that extensible template language which drives to bake as little markup as possible on its own. Widgets fit better to systems where changing templates or adding elements requires actual non-abstracted programming or the system all around uses widgets or a framework like structure.
Since you will be able to write and use any markup and build sites with any type of structures, you don’t really need Textpattern specific widgets. Anyway those widgets wouldn’t be automatic, but need markup and configuring. Which would make it the same as using a general JavaScript widget like the famous ShareThis. ShareThis itself doesn’t need any more than copy+pasting a generated snippet.
If any such service widget needs an article’s permanent link or its title, you can extract that information with the core tags alone.

That is the place where you would find plugins and is close to all there is, for what it is worth. There are some plugins not included in the repostory listed on the Plugin author support area on this same forum. Like for instance the plugins Oleg has made.
What you may want to keep in mind that the dates listed on the Textpattern.org don’t always tell the truth. For most part the dates aren’t kept updated. I myself update my plugins actively, but the page there might give a different idea.

Hi. I use yandex share button
You can see it used on my entire site
But it is not a textpattern plugin, it is simple some codes which you insert into your web design.
Also, at the bottom of the page notice there are simply links to my social pages. Those are just links and images, and if you click on them you are taken to a social page in new window.

Late to this, but as Gocom says, there is really no benefit to having a dedicated Textpattern plugin to do social sharing. All of the popular social channels provide their own APIs and code which can be built into your Textpattern-powered sites.
My default theme’s extra options folder contains some examples for Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to help you get started.

Just curious (I need to do this myself) what did you end up doing madzzoni? Can you share the code you used and how you did it?

Sharing ShareThis code isn’t useful ;) as you can customize the ST widget ad nauseam. Gocom posted a link to the service. It’s just a selecting/copying/pasting procedure. How it’s done is also contained on the TS site, at the end of the selection process. It’s straightforward, no more arcane than implementing a javascript file or a link to a stylesheet. Just ask should you struggle.

In bad weather I never leave home without wet_plugout, smd_where_used and adi_form_links
