[solved] body in feeds bug

Can somebody check this post? There seems to be a bug in the feeds.

If there’s a bug then report it in at the Google Code page, otherwise it may be overlooked.

This sound like slight confusion about what the preference actually does. Feeds’ output is identical between 4.6.0-dev, 4.5.4 and 4.4.1.

The thing is, Textpattern doesn’t contain a preference that disables excepts in feeds; the preference is named Syndicate article excerpt only?. Toggling it off, doesn’t disable excepts.

The preference mentioned, when toggled to Yes, makes so that body is used as the description when except is missing, opposed to disabling excepts, and removes the body content. The feeds will always, no matter what the preference is, use except as description if it’s available. This behavior has been used since the dawn of feeds in Textpattern.

If the option is set to No, the excerpt is used as the description and the body content as the content. Missing fields are omitted.

That clears things up Jukka. I always used excerpts – be that only for the feeds – so I never came across this behaviour.
