damn I wish I could grok etc_query.
It looks like a laser swiss army knife with “the handy grab anything and display it any way you like” attachment, but my brain hurts.

I can’t claim having grokked it, but would be more than glad to help. Actually, the main addition to the great smd_query and smd_xml is XPath targeting. There is more etc_query can do, but you might want to start with XPath grabbing.
