Getting Rid of Textpatterns Blog like Look

It seems as though Textpattern was created for users who want to create a blog like site. I am not wanting all the extra “bloggy” (technical term) features, such as the RSS/Atom feed, the Author thing that shows up on each post, the text that shows when it was posted, etc. I am wanting a site that functions like a regular site instead of a blog. Please help.

Hi

You can simply delete some stuff from textpattern page (like rss) and for the author things there are on default article form (see form tab in admin) and modify it to render articles like you want.

You need to understund some basic concept of Textpattern to build your site (the wiki is your friend), i advice you to download a textpattern template from textgarden and install it (a lot of them are free) then you can see how experienced users deals with building a website with txp.

But for a regular site (you think about business site maybe) personally I allways begin with my template (html/css) then i copy past it in default page and css then i add txp tags to make all that working.

Hope that can help you.

It depends what you want to upload. If it is audio files in the files folder, yes you can but you will need to add them in the database through the “files tab” if you want them to be part of the dynamic system

Hi,

This is not a txp issue but your website space provider would have send you this information.
