Vps

My site is getting 500 errors lately due to increased traffic. http://www.sochicomputer.ru/blog
Site is mostly static, but blog is textpattern. Site performs alright when other virtual hosting clients are dormant.

Man I sooooo have a feeling my host is making me buy VPS, because I’ve experienced traffic increases before and everything was cool.

Thus far I’ve been on virtual hosting plan and things been alright, but since traffic increase due to my consistent SEO efforts, things have changed. Basically I’m popular now.

Please help me choose VPS based on memory size and CPU clock. I need the least expense. Upgrades are free.

Option 1. 256 MB + 400 MHz = $108 USD per year

Option 2. 512 MB + 400 Mhz = $216 USD per year

Option 3. 768 MB + 700 Mhz = $306 USD per year

Re: Vps

Hi Alexander,

Your host sounds terrible. I would just change the host. Try the Gandi or Dreamhost packages or if you feel brave write to the new textdrive.

Yes, I now realize that my host sux in terms of money.

Give me an idea on what kind of cpu and ram I should be looking at? Try to guesstimate plz.

Also, how would I go about moving my virtual site and domains to a new host?

Re: Vps

this really depends on your traffic and what kind of software you have installed. If you go for basic VPS for either dreamhost or Gandi it should be enough or you might need to augment it with more as your site grows.
