[solved] Logged Out After Literally Every Click

Have a Textpattern site the client just moved to a new server. The database got corrupted so had to back up from a version several years old. I’ve pretty much got all the content back up and running, but I’ve encountered an issue I’ve never seen anywhere before: when I log in, the system kicks me out after literally every click. Click a tab — boom, logged out. Click an article name — boom, logged out.

(I updated the site to 4.5.2.)

Any pointers on what could be causing this issue?

I would check if cookies are accepted in the browser.
Do you have this behaviour in all browsers?

This behavior is in all browsers. Definitely not a browser problem.

Could it be an http:// <—> http://www issue? Any redirects? Has the Site URL field in TXPs admin the same content as these redirects?

Figured it out: a “clever” sysadmin mucked about my .htaccess file and wrote in a bunch of redirects. Thank you uli for making me think to look there.
