There’s this handful of plugins that all write to the database, one way or another (alphabetical, not by popularity):

• bit_article_hitlist
• dzd_counter_view
• rsx_request_count
• rvm_counter

Most of them should be available, here or on TXP Resources. Depending on your website’s structure, you should wrap its the plugin’s tag in if_individual_article tags, in case their help text doesn’t mention whether the plugin itself cares for that.
