SOLVED 4.5.2 Comments display three times
Finally gave myself permission to start another website. Grabbed Textpattern 4.5.2 and installed it all – tip top, no problems, “All checks passed!”
First of all, HUGE props to the code updates and million changes in HTML and CSS keeping it hyper-modern. So modern that I’m learning again – my Comments display three times. I only have two articles right now, and I’m using the out-of-the-box style.
Donald Swain loves my site three times (he’s great too) and the “Comments None” invites comments three times.
Is there something in the Forms or Pages that I need to alter? A tag to close?

Hi Bryan, if you put the site in debug mode, the tag trace of the individual article page will probably show you in which forms the comment tags are used. That will help you find the duplicates. If the tag trace doesn’t make much sense to you, just post it here and we will have a look.

Do you have ‘Automatically append comments to articles’ turned on in preferences? If so, turn it off.

Tag Trace was a bit much all at once, but the solution was to leave NO for ‘append comments to articles,’ which is the default. I couldn’t explain it beyond that if someone asked, but definitely thank you both!
