Server migration, some hiccups ahead
We will migrate our sites to a new server as Joyent discontinued our current package and replaced it with a shiny new blank machine in their Amsterdam datacenter.
This migration will affect these sites:
textpattern.comdev.textpattern.comsvn.textpattern.comforum.textpattern.comrpc.textpattern.comtextpattern.nettextbook.textpattern.nettextpattern.orgtxpmag.comtextgarden.org
Please expect intermittent service interruption while we relocate the furniture.
I will contact each individual site maintainer with a more detailed schedule and other related issues as migration progresses.
Update: If your are reading this, you are connected to our new forum server. Please report any issues you encounter.

Are the sites moving to the new TextDrive or staying on Joyent?

The machine hosting all Textpattern sites is donated by Joyent. Name servers and MX are donated by TextDrive.

The forum is now live on the new server. Having difficulties? Let me know!

Nice! Thanks to Joyent and TextDrive! I see @txd still hasn’t gotten around to adding Textpattern to the offerings on TextDrive’s homepage…

No difficulties. Is it a feeling? All TXP websites seem faster.

This is to be expected for visitors from certain geographic regions. The new server is situated in Amsterdam which spares European or a fraction of the Asian visitors about 120ms per request (ping time from Europe is approx. 30ms vs 150ms for the previous US-located server).

I definitely love Amsterdam :)
Robert, just in order to inform the community: How many time did you spend for this huge migration?
Thanks for all your efforts.
