Heck of a time changing servers... Parse error in publish.php....

So I am moving from one hosting company to another (GoDaddy) and I’ve finally (FINALLY) got the database imported—it was too big and I had to import it in chunks—and I’m pretty sure I’ve fixed all of the server paths (that I am aware of) to the new ones… the back end seems to work fine (from what little I’ve tried—it at least loads and lets me edit things) but the front end is deader than a doornail:

opalcat.com

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/content/51/9889351/html/opalcat/textpattern/publish.php(1238) : eval()’d code on line 18

GoDaddy tech support recommended I delete line 18 since it was a blank line, so I did. And all that did was change the error from blahblah(1239) to blahblah(1238)… it still says line 18… I have NO idea what this means. The site was running fine on my previous host with these exact same files…

Help?

I wonder why your publish.php file has 1238 lines. Mine has only 1005. Try uploading the TXP files again.

It’s 4.4.1 I think… would it be a bad idea to try to upload the newest version of Textpattern and upgrade now, or should I wait until I have everything working before I upgrade? And if the latter, can I download the 4.4.1 files somewhere?

Re: Heck of a time changing servers... Parse error in publish.php....

Line 1239 in TXP 4.4.1 is part of the function evalString and it is used only when you’ve enabled “allow raw PHP scripting”, which is deprecated and which was removed in TXP 4.5.

On the admin side, disable raw PHP scripting and see what happens. Probably some stuff breaks and you’ll have to fix the parts where you used raw PHP in your articles or templates.

Perhaps there’s a forum where you could ask how to do that :)

Keep in mind that postmaster is not working on 4.5.x

Oooh, that’s not good. I wasn’t planning on upgrading, but I was hacked and my hosting service said I should upgrade…

Maybe ruud’s question and Robert’s answer will be of help.
