Re: glz_custom_fields
So, judging from Tye’s, John Stephen’s and photonomad’s posts, you can apparently at least install 4.4.1, set up glz_cf to use what will work under 4.5.0+ (text areas, text inputs, radios and select menus), and then upgrade TXP.

Re: glz_custom_fields
I’m surprised no one mentioned it till now.
Quoted from a mail sent by Gerhard:
…This evening, I open sourced the repository, and made a new txp-45 branch where all the integration work ought to go. I won’t get a lot more done tonight, but will pick this up as and when during this week. If any of you wish to contribute towards getting this to work on TXP 4.5, I will be delighted….
Great news, no?

Re: glz_custom_fields
Actually, our ability to read the source in a publicly available repository does not mean much difference so far. “Open source” does not mean “free” although it is often misinterpreted as such.
I cannot find any license terms so users can only assume that this plugin is distributed under the terms of the GPL as it “makes function calls to and shares data structures with” Textpattern. See GPL FAQ.

Oops, I think I misinterpreted then. Sorry.
Should I delete the link?

Re: glz_custom_fields
No, you needn’t. The source code is open, i.e. everyone and the Google bot can read it on Github. But it is not explicitly free, i.e. it does not carry an explicit license to allow users to share, modify, tinker, enhance, or re-distribute the actual source code.
Think of it like a Getty-licensed photo on a news site: The image on the news site is open for everyone to consume, yet you will receive a nastigram from Getty’s lawyers if you use this image without a proper license on your own publicly visible site – even when you crop it or use it in a collage.

Re: glz_custom_fields
Just for me to get it right here.
Did Gerhard stop the development of this plugin?

No. He is working on an update for txp 4.5. The release date should be in a week or so.

Re: glz_custom_fields
Gerhard did stop development of this plugin, but has kindly now agreed to get it working with Textpattern 4.5. After which (4.6) better custom fields will be rolled into the core In some form or another. Hope that clarifies the situation.

Re: glz_custom_fields
All the TXP 4.5 integration work is done on a separate branch, please use that as a reference point.
For those that have missed my e-mails to the glz_custom_fields group, this should clarify the status of this plugin:
There is a first working version of the plugin for TXP 4.5.x (check the 1.4.0-* releases).
I wouldn’t suggest taking it into production just yet, important functionality is still missing:
- custom fields with multiple values prevent articles from being saved
- plugin preferences are not working
- date picker is not working
Any help for solving the above would be greatly appreciated.
If you come across any other bugs besides the above, let me know.
As soon as the above 3 issues are fixed, I’m happy to package the release candidate. The official 1.4.0 will follow after about a week without any bug reports.

Re: glz_custom_fields
For this one :
gerhard a écrit:
- custom fields with multiple values prevent articles from being saved
plugin type should be 5 (Admin+Public+AJAX)
ETA :
For this one :
- date picker is not working
Just get the latest version of the script.
Finally: what does not work in the preferences?

Re: glz_custom_fields
Can anyone confirm this plugin is now working correctly with 4.5.2?
