MarkItUp is now at 1.1.6 release and the 2.0 is on the way: does anyone tried the plugin with the latest version of the markup editor?

Yes, see the first post in this topic. I’ve updated the MarkItUp-package.

Wow this editor is so neat ! Thank you for the Plugin Jonathan !

I never knew about it until today – although I have to admit I initially thought this was about replacing textile with markdown – (which I thought was called markup).

I am going to go try Mark-it-up on Drupal and Expression Engine as well.

Thanks.

I’m getting a weird style bug on my Write tab here’s a screen shot, see the check marks over preview? Unenabling MarkItUp makes them go away.

I’m getting the exact same thing. I’m running a clean install of Textpattern 4.4.0 (r3514) and joh_admin_markitup was the first plugin I installed.

Also out of curiosity is there any chance of this plugin supporting Markdown?

Have you had a look at it with something like firebug in firefox or the webinspector in safari or chrome. That should show you which background images are attached to the ul/li/a tag and which css is responsible. Without having checked, it may be that markitup’s css has a declaration that also happens to match the dom of the tab.

Installation

Download the plugin joh_admin_markitup_v0.1.3.txt and the customized markitup-package: markitup-1.1.6-for-joh_admin_markitup.zip. Install and activate the plugin, unzip markitup-txpified.zip in your /textpattern/-directory and you’re set.

None of these two files download as .txt and .zip files. they end up being opened up by the browser.

Update: they download using Firefox and “save link as” …

When I install it on the new TXP version, the “preview” tab in the Write screen is covered with green checkmarks. Anybody else seeing this? (BTW, I get “access denied” when I try any of the download links, but I have a local copy from an earlier project.)

Re: joh_admin_markitup: MarkItUp Universal Markup Editor in Txp

I can’t even get the markitup bar to display with the new version 4.5, I suspect it has something to do with the redesign of the admin pages. The only thing I get is the checks over the preview button the write tab like alannie mentioned.

Edit: Ah, now the parent div in the write tab in 4.5 is called #main_content instead of #edit, so the js can’t find the #body or #excerpt textareas. I changed what markitup is targeting in the DOM and bam it worked!
