Replace my Txp linklog with my Radio2 linklog
On mistersugar.com, I’ve used the Textpattern built-in links system to have a microblog (which I call Sugarcubes) on the side of my home page. This has allowed me to post short quips and links to sites I’ve come across throughout the day, and this in turns connects to my Twitter account to tweet the link to my followers. It’s worked great, and I often use the links-specific search, in place at http://mistersugar.com/sugarcubes, to find a past site.
Lately, however, I’ve been using the tools being developed by Dave Winer, especially his Radio2 tool for publishing a linklog. I like that this allows me to include podcast audio files, and now has categories. I’m transitioning my Sugarcubes activity to Radio2 (see http://static.reallysimple.org/users/mistersugar/linkblog.html), and now want to pull in the feed from that for display on mistersugar.com. I know there are a few plugins for displaying RSS and XML, and will explore the options. But, if you have a favorite, or one that will work best with the feed (http://static.reallysimple.org/users/mistersugar/linkblog.xml), please share.
More generally, I’ll be blogging (on Textpattern) about learning to use Dave’s tools, including River2 (for displaying a river of newsfeeds), Radio2 and the World Outline. If you’re using these tools, separately or integrated with Textpattern, please contact me.
Cheers.
