Show categories per section
I have approx. 400 categories and 4 sections. To be able to just show the relevant 100 categories in the Write tab dropdown would help a lot.
Perhaps in the Categories admin tab there could be an extra option besides Delete called Show which, when in the Write tab, will only show categories with checkboxes selected? Or toggle to make it Hide. This would help a lot but of course if it could be made to work per section, it would be better.

Hi,
I remember once I wrote a quite raw plugin just for this. You can find it here. It is not elegant at all and I don’t know if it can be useful in your case given that you are dealing with 400 categories (!) and you’ll have to write your config by hand but maybe it’s worth a try.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I tried the raw plugin but I couldn’t get it to work. It doesn’t hide the categories. Must be doing something wrong. I tried hiding some in the ‘about’ section but when in the write tab and ‘about’ section is selected the same categories are still there. Although it is clunky, it will be useful if it works. For a feature idea though, it would be much easier if people could select a check box for the categories as I described above.
