Finding out the localhost

So when I try to install the CMS onto a webhost, I am prompted to input the mysql server. But sometimes that isn’t the “localhost” . How would I determine what the that is for any webhosting company?

In many cases, it is indeed localhost even though on the webserver. On some hosts – for example dreamhost as I experienced today – the control panel should tell you what your host name is.

My web host lists on my settings page when I log into my domain. If it isn’t there, check with their help forum, etc.
