Can't connect to MySQL
I spent few hours to find out how to fix the problem, but no success. During installation of Textpattern 4.4.0, after filling settings for database, user and password, I get two warnings and can’t continue the installation.
I have PHP5, MySQL 5.0, and hosting on 1&1.
My warnings:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/tmp/mysqld.sock’ (2) in /homepages/1/d368707058/htdocs/przemek/textpattern/setup/index.php on line 208

Re: Can't connect to MySQL
So when no one answers these questions and people get bored and give up with textpattern, is that a good thing?

Re: Can't connect to MySQL
It might be a server issue. A search in the forum for 1&1 might help.

Hopefully someone here will shed some light to the issue. Have you contacted your host?

Truth be told, I thought your post was the easy me-too kind of SEO spam you see everywhere. (And couldn’t help either way.)

Re: Can't connect to MySQL
Looking at 1&1’s FAQs might prove helpful too. For instance, according their (if up-to-date) Where can I find the necessary information to connect to MySQL Database?, the socket used (config’s host) in the thread’s first post might be incorrect.
