MTS video files?

does anyone know how to open them on a mac for quicktime conversion.
tried stream clip but no good.
Haven’t found anything on the web that works.
MTS is a pc high def format. it’s kind of 3rd partyish. what a pain..

iMovie should be able to import the files, and Handbreake can convert pretty much anything, including those AVCHD (.mts) files, to anything.

Seconding Handbrake. I use it for MTS files all the time.

Hi guys, handbreak was the first thing i tried.
But the problem is that I’m still on osx10.4.11 so i don’t have the latest version which doesn’t recognize the mts files. Same for my version of iMovie. I think i will have to go with colak’s suggestion. anymp. thanks a mill

Use Handbrake or FFmpeg (both are freebie) to convert mts files to mov on you Mac.
