txp 4.4.1 stuck on language preference page after upgrade
Hello,
I have just upgraded to 4.4.1 according to the manual. My site works fine, but when I login to the admin panel, whatever I do txp takes me to the language preferences pane and stays there. I am unable to do anything – wherever I click it just refreshes the lang pref page and that’s it.
I am using GB and PL as languages and my current txp interface is in Polish. These two languages seem to be updated and there is no other sign of trouble.
Any ideas how to fix this?

My original post can be misleading, probably resulting in an incomplete update. So I added below what should be done.

Being stuck in the language pane is a pointer to an incomplete file transfer. Re-upload the files that came with the update. (Take care to not overwrite stuff you might have customized like images and files folders, admin CSS files etc. In case your installation is dependent on the current jQuery version watch that one, too.)
Open the TXP admin again, you should now have access to the complete admin interface. Visit Admin > Diagnostics in order to see whether the preflight check still finds changed (not replaced) files.

I remember I read about such an issue not long ago, it had to do with an unchanged version number in the txp_prefs table. Try PHPmyAdmin to take a look at that data entry.

Solved! Indeed, in that table I still had an old version number. Changing it fixed the problem.

OK, so now you should go to Admin > Diagnostics: Does your preflight check section tell something about changed files?

Yes, but only harmless stuff – no permissions to write in files and images folders and that two files from the RPC folder were modified.

My susp ect icion was that if _update.php wasn’t copied over during update, other important files could be left out as well.

Ah, yes, but I figured this out myself and manually copied the files from the update folder. This removed all the other warnings that were popped up in the diagnostics.
Is this a known problem? Why did it happen – was it specific to my server/admin configurations?

Had that several times because of an FTP application not working as it should. Not a specific TXP problem.

Hi. I seem to be having the exact same problem. My current version is 4.4. I don’t think I’ve upgraded the program, so I’m wondering what might be the culprit here. If I were to go into phpMyAdmin, what would I look for? (I’m not a database person at all.)

You need to re-upload the files as the error might be because of your ftp program
