[wiki] Screenshots in tutorials
I’ve just finished reading this and I was happy until I got to the bit that says:
NO SCREENSHOTS!
What’s the reasoning behind this? As a technical trainer in a previous life, there’s a place for appropriate screenshots in tutorials – it makes them more accessible to those with different brain wiring. If it’s just a throwback from times gone by and screenshots are no longer verboten, then that’s totally fine – I just wanted to check before I write up a tutorial.

Re: [wiki] Screenshots in tutorials
I think there’s a difference between screenshots that show the entire screen and screenshots that show only the relevant part of the screen. See the example given just below that “No screenshots!” part.

Ah, yes – now I understand. Thanks, ruud.

Re: [wiki] Screenshots in tutorials
I edited that section a bit.
But I think some sections could be moved to the editorial style guide now. The wiki page itself could focus more on where to get tutorial ideas, which is really the first step anyway. :)
