When txp 5.0 is launched...
Didn’t know where to post this, but as I had a pretty sleepness night last night, my mind started wandering…
When txp5 is released… I have the impression that it will be technically different to txp4… so I was thinking that maybe plenty of plugins will stop working if we upgrade (correct me if I am wrong).
So I was wondering if a stable, secure version of txp4 would still be kept updated – no improvements, just kept secure, or if that branch is going to be trashed altogether?

Take this as a hint: My most ancient Textpattern site stems from 2005, version 1.0RC4ish and has gone through its updates since then.
Textpattern development has always followed a continuing theme of smooth upgrade paths, and this theme won’t change for future releases.

It only occurred to me to ask as I know txp is having a major overhaul… should have known better really :)
