Re: Admin Login Problem

Hi,

I decided to disable some plugins via phpmyadmin.
I struck lucky choosing Stef’s prognostics plugin (smd_prognostics 1.17) first as it is loaded 1.
As soon as I disabled the plugin I got access to the admin-side.

smd_prognostics was obviously working when I installed it.

I haven’t logged into this site’s back-end for a few months.

I only found this problem because I was upgrading to 4.4.1

Thanks for everyone who tried to help.

Geoff

Upgrade went well – thanks to all for the new security features.

Eeegads. Wonder what’s going wrong there? Sorry about that. Would love to find out what’s causing the problem. If you would like me to try and track down the problem then feel free to send me a login and I’ll do some sleuthing.

I do have a newer version of the plugin which you’re welcome to try, but the changes are so minor I don’t think it’ll affect things to that degree. Might be worth a shot though.

Failing that, if you have smd_prefalizer installed you could check the plugin’s prefs by searching for smd_prog. I would recommend setting smd_prognostics_sql_inject to smd_no as a first stab (because that feature isn’t particularly good or robust right now). Other prefs might be corrupt somehow but I thought I tested for those, so if not then maybe it’s a weird interaction between smd_prognostics and another plugin. Freaky.

Re: Admin Login Problem

Hi Stef,

I can send you an admin login to the site in question.

As soon as you switch the plugin on you’ll lose the back-end.

I can’t send you my server login for dB access as there is more than my stuff on there.

Geoff

No need to apologise.
Your plugins power most of the logic on my sites and I’m very grateful for your work.

I’ll install smd_prefalizer and tell you the results, might be later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for the login.

Can’t we access the site directly with site.com/textpattern?event=plugins which should disable all plugins so we can muck about with the code. That’s the theory…
