Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Small update.

  • Loads EBL_Image_Edit on new image upload
  • New ability to remove backup images

Consider this a pre-Beta release to fix the two above issues. If you’ve already installed EBL Image Edit, delete the previously installed plugin and install the below. If you haven’t, install the plugin from my site, and replace the plugin with the below. Let me know if it works, browsers, bugs, etc.

http://pastebin.com/c52bLKd5

If it tanks, reinstall from the files on my site.

And, buy this law student a cup of coffee. After-all, how many tech savvy attorney’s do you know?

Also, note, it will not work with adi_image_tab. One or the other.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Had some time to play today, and it seems to work as expected. Thanks for the improvements with backups!
The only glitch I remarked happens when you take the following steps:

  1. click “Crop” but then have the idea to do a backup first
  2. click “Backup” (cropping frame remains, no handles btw)
  3. click “Backup” button and JS alert button (cropping frame remains)
  4. click crop again (cropping frame vanishes)
  5. click crop again in order to get the cropping frame (cropping frame appears, but there’s no “Crop Original” button any more)
  6. click crop again (frame vanishes, button appears)
  7. click crop again (frame appears, button vanishes)
  8. etc.

Same for thumbnails. Can’t tell whether any of these is introduced in the new version.
(Tested with TXP 4.4, jQuery 1.5.1, and FF 3.6 Mac)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Ok. I’ll try to iron out those glitches. Shouldn’t be too hard. Thanks for the feedback.

One feature which I definitely want, is the double-click the crop area to crop (think Photoshop) the area. This isn’t exactly working like it is supposed to, so it looks like I’ll be editing jCrop to suit my needs better.

Thanks for the update, Eric!

I’m away at the moment, but am looking forward to try it out – will let you know.

Since I have quite a few “older sites” runing, what’s the minimum required txp version?

I too would like to see the crop feature to ebl Image improved. So far, I can click on the “crop” tab but I cannot get any sort of cross hairs to create/drag the cropping area. Is there some plugin that this function relies on? If so, this should go in core.

Is anyone else having images thumbnail blurry after ebl_image was activated? I notice pixelated images on my thumbs.

Hi how do I use this patch please? can you please guide me?

Edit: OK I made it to understand that I need to change the 2 png switch cases,
but the results are bad because it’s making shadows and other effects to look sharp and black.
Is there way to fix it please?
A link to a print-screen of the result I got

Still having problems with the thumbnails pixelating upon generation. Image in full mode shows up fine. Is this a glitch/bug?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Thumbnail pixelation is most probably your GD library on your host. I’ll look at it again and see if there is anything I can tweak. I expect to release an updated version this weekend, time and studies willing (any willingness to donate to said impoverished student’s efforts will greatly expedite said process…)

Law School:
First year – Scare you to death (and, as experience shows, work you to death)
Second year – Work you to death (figure 200 pages of thick dense legal reading a week, at minimum)
Third Year – Bore you to death (can I graduate already?)
