[mention] Usage of CMSs for websites - Txp @ less than 0.1%

Txp is above XpressEngine and below Google Sites.
The way I see it… there is a lot of room for improvement :)
I’m sure there are tons of WP devs (web designers as opposed to web devs) that would LOVE Txp once they knew more about it.

One of the key advantages WordPress has at moments like this is the ubiquity of this across so many themes:
<meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.1.2" /> It seems like a simple thing, but it has had a big impact since most WP users need help to remove it.
Looking through this list it is mighty hard to tell at a glance which ones are running what we think they are.

You hit the nail on the head.
the only way I can tell if it is a txp site is by typing its admin side.
the other main difference between txp and wp is that most wp sites have the powered by wp link whereas most txp sited don’t

Because most WP users just pick out a template and never worry about customizing it. Whatever the template included is now on their site.

And if you create your own template from scratch for your own use, you are less inclined to add Published with or Powered by.

That tiny meta data is included in email headers (x-mailer), XML-RPC server (as a engine) and feeds, and the default template has always had branding, but other than that, I don’t remember it has been used on the public side. :/
If it was used, it was before original release candidates at least according SVN, as long as I didn’t miss something obvious which is entirely possible knowing my air — um head :p
That said, I’ve heard that Textpattern.com uses Textpattern CMS ;-)
