How do you control page used for categories / search results?

Hello! Newbie here, putting together a site with Textpattern for the first time. My question is: how can I control which page is used to display categories and search results? They seem to automatically go to the page I use for the default section, but I’d like to use a separate page for them.

Thanks for any help!

Yep, that is the default behaviour. You can change it by using the section attribute in <txp:search_input />, <txp:category_list />, or any other tag that links to a category page.

Oh, and welcome to Textpattern :)

For a custom search page, you can also create a search section, which is how I prefer to do things.

See Customise the TXP search form and Search using non-default section
