latest version 4.40 upgraded
replaced .htaccess with new
messy URLs
corrected permissions on folders – somehow they changed (host maybe?)
just changing a form element i get the following message:
////
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /textpattern/index.php on this server.
////
stumped. searched forums and can’t get anywhere
thanks in advance

already got those in .htaccess – no difference
The normal .htaccess lives in the root. When you read carefully until the elast line you see that wet’s talking about the textpattern folder. Do you have an .htaccess there, too?

Contact your hosting provider. Pretty much sounds like too tight security filters. Tell them that there is possibility that security modules are blocking harmless requests required by your site’s content management system’s admin-side.
