One nice advantage to using Textpattern
I purchased a plain-HTML template today for half price compared to the Wordpress version. Went into the template, plugged in my txp tags, and it became a Textpattern template.
Since I know better than to think that using Wordpress would have saved me time, I am pretty happy about this situation.
I think a big “SAVES YOU BAGS OF MONEY OVER THE COMPETITION” button at textpattern.com is in order. With a 3D-extruded $ or € or something.

There’s also a ton of websites with free templates, and many have licenses that allow you to use them for commercial purposes.

This was actually a mobile template, and I haven’t found many good free mobile templates. I’m using media queries on my own site, but in this case time was in short supply and the template had a few extra features I wanted.
