Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

I dont think that’s possible, due to the way txp works. I could be wrong though.

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

gfdesign – is this what you mean?

(esq_adminsplash is powering the help tab)

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

Sorry – that screenshot was with Txp on the Content Tab.

Here’s the help tab with the native subtab header and one with the preference set to empty.

The location indicator is still present in the second screenshot, but that’s the admin theme css

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

The indicator is still there because there is still a sublevel nav item, but it has no text content, probably like
<li><a href="index.php?event=esq_adminsplash"></a></li>

Very true. I didn’t mean to give the impression that the sub-level nav was actually gone – only that it should be possible to hide it using the admin theme css, thus achieving the desired appearance gfdesign described.

Sorry if my suggestion confused or misled.

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

I put this code in to register the tab and I’m getting an error:

add_privs('tab.start', '1,2,3,4,5,6');
register_tab('start', 'esq_adminsplash', $config['Home']);

The error I get is:

Undefined variable $config

Any ideas? The Home tab shows up correctly. Thanks.

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

Marc

It should be:

register_tab('help', 'esq_adminsplash', $config['tab_name']);

You set the tab name in the configuration array at the top.

$config = array(
		'tab_name' => 'Name of your tab here',

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

Guys:

I get – Badly formed or empty plugin code – when I try to download this plugin from the refrenced site — I am sure it is an error on my side — any guidance would be appreciated —-

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

You may be accidentally copying the line numbers on the left as well. Try ensuring you’re copying only the code, or click “View raw file” on the right and copy the whole lot there.

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

In TXP 4.5.7 I can’t find the ‘Default admin tab’ under Advanced in the Preferences tab.
So I can’t set the ‘Admin Help’ and use the plugin.
Am I missing something?

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

It should still be there.
https://github.com/textpattern/textpattern/blob/master/textpattern/include/txp_prefs.php#L562

Are you on the Advanced tab?

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

Yes, I’ve searched for the “Default Admin Help” in the Advance tab of the TXP Preferences but it’s missing.

I use TXP with Italian language but I think this is not the problem (I don’t expect to find the localized version but at least the original one).

Where should I find it?

Re: esq_adminsplash - Admin splash page

Look for Default admin tab.
I just installed a fresh copy 4.5.7 and it’s definitely there.

It’s possible that a borked admin theme is hiding it, but I don’t know why.

Make sure you’re on /textpattern/index.php?event=prefs&step=advanced_prefs and then view source and look for default_event.
